Ch 3

Chapter 3

Jon and Danielle have a few problems in their marriage the biggest one being that Jon is feeling very neglected by not having any sex or any physical relationship with his wife and Dani is feeling very neglected for being left at home with the children.

Dani and Jon seem to co-exist but not really partner together of course the kids don’t really notice but the rest of the band do. After she and the kids spend a few weeks on the road it becomes very obvious the two of them are not on the same page. It’s ok for Dani, she spends her day getting more familiar with the band and actually learning about managing this band from the inside. Jon however finds it more difficult because now he has three children all three years old all wanting daddy’s attention all the time. It so unique for them to have dad around. Every day is seems that Jon has one of the kids attached to him, under his feet, trying to play with them to stopping band rehearsals and picking up a kid and putting one on his hip to keep them quiet while working with the band.

One afternoon he has Mackenzie following him around, his wife and kids have been on the road for approximately a month and ½ and he’s just fed up. It’s as if she doesn’t even keep an eye on the kids during the day, he picks up Mackenzie and walks to the backstage area to try to find his wife. Walking into the makeshift office he looks at Dani and exasperated he asks her, “do you plan on watching our kids or is it okay with you if they just run all over?” She immediately hears that tone but doesn’t acknowledge it because she does not wanna fight with him in front of the kids so she looks of him very flippant and answers, “no it’s your turn watch the kids”

Kenzie smiles at her daddy, “I have daddy” with that Danielle turns around and goes back to work.

Jon realizes that Danielle is not impressed she looks at Jon with a little bit of distaste, anger and feelings of betrayal. Jon never thought when they got together that she’d ever look at him like that. Yes they started their marriage differently, at the beginning it wasn’t perfect but it was romance and learning to love one another. So now that they’ve been married for four years and have three kids, he is starting to see how much of a toll getting married very quickly without a proper courtship has on her. But it almost seems to be a little bit too late. Jon is so engrossed in everything that goes on to the band they both have good intentions but he forgets to get her flowers or walk up and give her a hug for no reason so because easier and easier for them to just coexist.

One afternoon when Danielle has left all the kids in Jon’s hands in his temper gets the best of him and he leaves the kids with his brother and walks into the office area where she is. He looks at her and says “I would like to speak to you please” and actually he says that rather politely.

She looked at him, “Jon I’m busy”

“I don’t care if you’re busy I’m your husband and I’m asking for some time and also the owner of the company so I don’t think you’ll get in trouble for speaking with me by your boss.” The disgust he feels at how little he means to her makes him want to throw up.
